Leading the Blackheath Halls Orchestra has been a fantastic experience so far. It’s a real pleasure to work with such a friendly and talented group of people who give such energy and commitment to all their performances. Recently we have been rehearsing for a performance of Macbeth, which is an Opera in four acts by Giuseppe Verdi. It is the first of Shakespeare’s plays to be adapted for the operatic stage.
Although Macbeth is very challenging in places, I’m pleased to say that it’s sounding fantastic already! Our fabulous conductor Nick is great to work with, always keeping it fun while getting the very best from the orchestra and chorus. It’s also been inspiring to have such experienced soloists performing with us and I can’t wait for performances next week!
