Every witch needs the right hairstyle so yesterday a few of us set up a salon in the car park.
Empty drums with “heads” were our models and with a pair of semi blunt scissors, some PVA and some talc we were off creating fetching concoctions! Rose supplied the coffee, Verity the cakes and so the wigs were snipped and chopped and glued and sprayed.
The end results were stunning of course – but mainly by the end of the day they were done!
It was all great fun, people walking past stopped to stare but were too nervous to ask what we were doing so we told them.
The sun shone, we chatted and the work went pleasurably and fast.
One of the great things about taking part in the Blackheath Opera is the sense of community and belonging. The opportunity to meet so many people and rub shoulders with some well known ones too. This year in particular there is a great sense of camaraderie.
All I’ve got to do now is go through the words and cues one more time before the Dress Rehearsal and get the final bits of my costume together and we are ready to go. Now all I have to do is sing and act and in the right places and at the right time!
