Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at Blackheath Halls

Blackheath Halls is delighted to announce the second series of recitals by members of the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House.

The link between Blackheath Halls and the Young Artists Programme was established through Blackheath Halls Opera, since several of the principals in our Blackheath Halls Operas, including Matthew Rose, Grant Doyle and James Edwards, started their careers as members of the Royal Opera House’s Young Artist Programme. Director Harry Fehr, who directed three Blackheath Halls Operas and continues to act as an advisor to Blackheath Halls Opera, was also part of the Young Artists Programme.

Other former Young Artists, including Marina Poplavskaya, Ailish Tynan, Ha Young Lee, Jacques Imbrailo and Robert Murray have performed at Blackheath Halls’ Opera Gala Nights. Pianist Susanna Stranders, another former Young Artist, has given several performances in Blackheath Halls and has led Song Circle courses at the Halls with mezzo soprano Wendy Dawn Thompson .

The recitals will take place in our newly renovated Recital Room on Wednesday evenings and start at 7:00pm. Tickets are £7 per recital or £20 for all three recitals. To book tickets please contact our box office on 020 8463 0100 or book on line http://www.blackheathhalls.com

The dates and the artists for the Jette Parker Young Artist Programme recitals are

• 29th January 2014: soprano Kiandra Howarth and tenor Luis Gomes
