Last Friday, 20th September, Blackheath Halls celebrated the completion of its ‘Elevate and Renovate’ campaign with the official opening of the renovated Recital Room and the lift to the first floor.

Speeches were made by Keith Murray, Blackheath Halls’ General Manager, Tony Brewer, Chairman of the Friends of Blackheath Halls (and, of course, King Duncan in our Macbeth this summer) and Professor Anthony Bowne, Principal of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Dame Joan Ruddock MP performed the official opening by starting this short film produced by Chris Tanton, Trinity Laban’s Web Content Officer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwr-bWEIhjo&feature=youtu.be The film features Scott Hart, Project Co-ordinator for ‘Elevate and Renovate’, soprano Caroline Foulkes, Blackheath Halls’ Administrator, and Rose Ballantyne, Blackheath Halls’ Community Engagement Manager, piano.

We are indeed fortunate to have such talented staff at Blackheath Halls: Caroline is a Trinity Laban alumna and a professional opera singer, whilst Rose, as we all know, manages Blackheath Halls Opera and performs in the chorus.

Do come and have a ride in our new lift and enjoy a show in our renovated Recital Room!
