After our rehearsal in Greenvale School this morning, the team walked to Lee Manor Primary School, where we had a rehearsal with the year 4 class. Since the introductory session for all the schools on 4th June class teacher Emily Hall and her staff have introduced The Adventures of Count Ory in the curriculum and it was clear from the beginning that the children knew the story and who was who.
It was a very hot afternoon but the children concentrated very well and moved well following Harry’s directions. On these photos you can see the children with their pretend candles, trying to look devout despite the heat, and ready to put their ‘candles’ in front of the Madonna (the blue plastic chair). Assistant Director Jack played the role of the Countess (which was sung by Musical Director Nick) with Project Manager Rose as the Countess’ friend Ragonde.
A great first rehearsal!
