First dress rehearsal

The first dress rehearsal of Rossini’s The Adventures of Count Ory at Blackheath Halls has just finished. I don’t want to give too much away about our production, as I hope you will come and see the opera next week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday at 7:00 and Sunday at 2:30pm), but in the opening scene there is an interesting mixture of villagers assembled in the village square. There are builders, doctors, hikers, police constables, cleaning ladies, nurses, gym teachers and tennis players. It was fun to see everyone in the cafe/bar in their costumes.
